What are the CITAP Program and CITAP Portal?

The Coordinated Interagency Transmission Authorizations and Permits (CITAP) Program was established by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to expedite the Federal authorizations required to site proposed electric transmission facilities. The CITAP Program developed the CITAP portal to streamline communication between the project proponent and all applicable Federal agencies in the analysis of the environmental reviews required for a proposed project. The online portal allows project proponents to track the status of their permit, submit materials, and communicate with DOE.
